Russell H. Samson, MD, DFSVS, FACS, RVT

Dr. Samson founded Sarasota Vascular Specialists in1986 and served as Chief of Surgery for Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Doctors Hospital.  He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery and a Clinical professor of Surgery at Florida State University Medical School and is currently the President of The Mote Vascular Foundation, Inc. He has published over 100 peer reviewed journal articles, 28 chapters, been an Assistant editor of Rutherford’s Vascular Surgery, Seminars in Vascular Surgery and served as the medical Editor of Vascular Specialist. Dr. Samson has lectured throughout the world.  He was one of the first in the nation to start an office-based center and wrote the first paper on establishing Endovascular Suites in the Journal of Vascular Surgery.  He was one of the first leader’s in setting up an Office Vascular Lab.
