Residents and Fellow Competition
Residents and Fellows participating in the 2023 Resident & Fellow Paper Competition represented Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Surgery; Augusta University, Medical College of Georgia, Department of Surgery; Mercer University, School of Medicine (Savannah), and the University of Tennessee, School of Medicine in Chattanooga, TN. R. Anthony Meena, MD received the “2023 Robert B. Smith, III, MD Resident Award” for his presentation entitled “Comparison of Non-Autologous Hemodialysis Grafts: Bovine Carotid Artery Versus Synthetic”
Medical Students
Medical students are encouraged to participate in the educational program. This will be the ideal setting to present a research project in a supportive, friendly environment.
Medical Students participating in the 2023 W. Daniel Jordan, MD Medical Student Paper Competition represented Emory University School of Medicine; Augusta University, Medical College of Georgia; AU/UGA Medical Partnership; PCOM – South Georgia, and Mercer University School of Medicine – Savannah.
Queen Abure, a MS3 student from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, was the 2023 recipient of the W. Daniel Jordan, MD Award for her presentation “Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm with Horseshoe Kidneys” at the GVS 11th Annual Scientific Sessions held on September 15-17, 2023, at The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds, Lake Oconee.
