Highlights for this year's meeting include presentations from our three guest speakers Dr. Adam Beck, Dr. Rabih Chaer and Dr. Peter Lawrence; a session on Aortic Dissection with international speaker Dr. Germano Melissano, Milan, Italy and Dr. Bradley Leshnower, Emory University; and a Saturday Lunch Session "A Vascular Surgeon's Guide to Coding, Documentation and Upcoming Changes" being presented by Dr. Francesco A. Aiello.
GVS welcomes The Southeastern Vascular Study Group (SEVSG) who is conducting their fall meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee on September 8, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. preceding the GVS Welcome Reception. SEVSG is a cooperative group of clinicians, hospital administrators and research personnel organized to improve the care of patients with vascular disease in the states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Membership includes hospitals and physician groups that participate in the Society for Vascular Surgery Patient Safety Organization (SVS PSO) Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI). By collecting and exchanging information, the group hopes to continuously improve the quality, safety, effectiveness and cost of caring for these patients.

The Spouse's Hospitality Breakfast is open to all guests/spouses. Breakfast will be served on Saturday & Sunday from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the Meadowlark Room located on the lobby level around the corner from the GVS Scientific Sessions. Kids are welcome too!
The Welcome Reception will be held on Friday evening, September 8 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom & Foyer. This is a time to reunite with friends, colleagues and industry in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy hors d' oeuvres and an open bar before dinner on your own. Cheers!
The GVS Golf Tournament will be held at The Oconee Golf Course (just a short walk from the hotel valet) on Saturday, September 9 with tee times beginning at 2:00 p.m. This tournament will have a scramble format. Please register in advance; the fee is $100 per person. NEW – forecaddies are required on The Oconee Golf Course. The cost for forecaddies is included in the greens fee but individual golfers are responsible for tipping forecaddies. $25 per golfer is recommended but the amount should be based on the level of service.
If you would like to be paired with certain players, please let us know at the GVS Registration Desk located in the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom Foyer. Prizes will be given for the 1st place foursome, longest drive (male & female), longest putt and closest to the pin. Upon arrival at the Ritz-Carlton, please check your golf clubs at the bell stand so they can be transported for you on game day.
NEW THIS YEAR! GVS will hold the 1st Annual Sporting Clays Tournament on Saturday, September 9 starting at 2:30 p.m. at Old Hudson Plantation. The fee includes rental gun, ammo, eye & ear protection and golf cart. Please feel free to bring your own gun and eye & ear protection if you wish. The first-place team will receive prizes and the high overall winner gets their name placed on the perpetual trophy!

The President’s Tailgate Party starts at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9 with the Georgia vs. Notre Dame game kickoff at 7:30. The food theme this evening is Italian in honor of Dr. Anthony Avino. This is a family-friendly event with food & activities for people of all ages! Join us for plenty of football on the large screens, yard games and watch as the chefs cook up pizzas in their copper oven. Attire is casual – wear your favorite team shirt!
Please register in advance; the fee is $75 for adults and children 12 & over. Children under 12 eat free.
The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee has three restaurants on property.

Overnight valet parking for GVS hotel guests has been discounted to $20/night. If you choose to pay the resort fee, valet parking is complementary (see optional resort fee details below). Daytime parking for drive-ins is $10/day.
